Oil Paintings
In 1984, Ewa Brachel moved to Great Britain, settling permanently in Woking in Surrey, near London. At that time, Ewa worked mainly within advertising and graphics. At the beginning of the 90s, Ewa returns to her own personal work. She begins painting and creates urban landscapes, paradoxically devoid of human presence, expressive and lyrical at the same time. She uses expressive form, shaped by strong brush strokes in harmony with the colour palette of subdued browns, greys and blues. Oil works from the "Highway" series are presented at several exhibitions in London: at City Art, Hays Galleria (1993), Stephen Bartley Gallery (1994) and Wigmore Hall (1996).
